Cape Town is one of the world’s premiere holiday and tourist destinations, yet we as locals staying in this magnificent city seem to know and appreciate very little of our home town.

This event takes the form of a corporate treasure hunt/race through the streets of Cape Town and surrounding towns.

Groups are split into teams of 7 members and they have the opportunity of finding clues and navigating their way through Cape Town in the quest to finishing this amazing event first.

In putting together this event we have aimed at incorporating most of the key features and ultimate attractions Cape Town has to offer. We literally have not left a stone unturned in offering you the best event of such a nature in South Africa. From finding cryptic clues in old dungeons to testing your wits in our famous sporting stadiums, find your way into some of our most elite underground bars, scale rock faces, descend into secret military defense posts and this is just to name but a few of the exiting venues you will be visiting during your race.

No level of physical fitness is required to part take, just a whole lot of brains and daring and you have got all it needs to be the next winner of the Cape Town Challenge.

Different costing options on the event are available and are determined by whether groups are using private transport or if transport and drivers are provided by BATEAM. The activities may also be adapted to address costing and time on the total event.

Venues to be visited during the day, including activities involved at these venues:

BRAIN TEASER

After warm-ups, the teams will be given a brain teaser to warm up the mind and also determine in what order teams will start the race

THE STADIUM

A list of riddles is handed to the team. Different riddles are to be solved by different team members. The answers of these separate riddles will be used and supplemented into an overall team riddle and this will have to be solved by the team. The result of this overall team riddle will indicate the location in the stadium where the next clue will be found

BOTANICAL GARDENS

In the gardens you will find different sections of plants, coded and categorised according to plant family and use, as well as climate. Teams are to find a specific section in the gardens and will have to solve a brain teaser when they get there to send them of to their next location.

MEMORIAL

Find the cryptogram at the memorial and use the result as your indication to the next location.

INDOOR ROCK CLIMBING

Inside the shop you will find your next clue just out of reach. Seeing this is the leading outdoor and climbing store in the Western Cape, you will have to get some courage and strength together and climb the indoor climbing wall to the top and retrieve your next location clue.

DOWN IN THE DARK!

This battery was used to protect our beautiful coastline. Now it is protecting your next clue in absolute darkness. Find your clue hidden in some of the underground tunnels. Fairly soon you will find yourself praying for any form of light at the end this tunnel

VEHICLE SWAP

Also known as the spanner in the wheel activity. The next clue for all the teams is hidden away under the drivers seat of one of the other team’s vehicles. All you know is what vehicle, how you convince them to give it up is up to you.

THE CASTLE

At the oldest building in South Africa, you will have to find one of the most unlikely inscriptions to be able to find your next location

PHONE BOOTH

Teams will have to find a predestined telephone booth and follow the instructions on the booth to find the next clue. This part of the activity will put a definite twist in the proceedings

The event could end back at your office or at a restaurant of your choice.

Within our Teambuilding rate and at no additional charge, photos are taken of your team during the Team building activities and we burn them on to a CD.
Refreshments can be provided on the vehicles during the activity.
